One Seat. One Clinician. One Story.
Tired of navigating separate paths for your mental health? At Mindscaper, you don't have to.
You’ve been telling your story to provider after provider and still don’t feel seen. That ends here. I’m Leigh, an Endorsed Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Your biology, your history, your challenges, and your strengths—No more repeating yourself. Just focused, integrated support to help you build trust in yourself, through the trenches towards solid ground.
You might be here if, you are tired of being the…
The family scapegoat who carries everyone else’s dysfunction
The eternal caretaker who’s forgotten what your own needs are, or were never allowed
The crisis manager, who’s always putting out fires, but never gets to rest, and the concept of rest feels foreign or a deeply unpleasant experience of overthinking and guilt
The people-pleaser who lost your voice somewhere in all the agreeing
The hypervigilant guardian who can’t turn off the alarm system

Unified Care: Meds + Therapy in one seat

High-Complexity understood
Most mental health care is a loop of thinking about thinking.
Mindscaper is something different.
I don't just observe the terrain. I'm familiar with it. As a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 28 years of experience, I've sat with people at the sharpest edges — and I know that biology and story aren't at odds. They're the same map, drawn in different languages.
I hold the heavy stuff while we resource the system to keep going. The overwhelm. The exhaustion. The existential weight of the world we're living in.
Not to fix it. To help you find solid ground inside it.
What you'll experience
I work with trauma, addiction, and the complex ways physical health, psychological distress, and lived experience intersect. I use integrative approaches including IFS, DBT, and Brainspotting, with EMDR (coming June) evidence-based methods that work with your nervous system, not against it.
Steady ground
I've spent my career in high-acuity settings—emergency departments, acute wards, consultation liaison and addiction medicine—working with people in crisis and complexity. I know how to hold difficult stories. Over the years, I have refined an approach that is grounded in evidence, and flexible enough to meet your system where it actually is.
I'm trained to recognise when body and mind are in conflict, and to work with both. You can expect clinical expertise, ethical practice, and genuine attunement to what matters most in your care.
Hey, it’s Leigh here…
-
I work with adults (18+) experiencing:
Anxiety, low mood and emotional overwhelm
Trauma and complex life experiences
Addiction and substance-related concerns
Burnout and Compassion Fatigue
Neurodivergent ways of thinking and being
People feeling stuck - such as complicated grief, and/or life transitions
-
I recognize and value neurodivergence as a natural and important part of human diversity. My practice is built on the understanding that there is no 'right' way for a brain to function.
In our work together, this means:
Pacing: We move at a speed that respects your nervous system.
Environment: Whether in-person or online, we prioritise your sensory comfort.
Presence: I use AI-assisted tools to remove the 'cognitive load' of note-taking, ensuring I am fully present and engaged with you.
Autonomy: You are the expert on your own internal experience.
Right Fit: If your specific needs would be better served by a different specialist, I’ll tell you clearly and help you find the right pathway. This is part of my commitment to your safety.
Fees and Cancellations

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Booking a session is simple and secure. You can click on the 'REQUEST A SESSION' button located at the top right of our website. This will take you to our confidential online booking portal, powered by Halaxy. There, you can view available session types, check pricing, and select a time that works for you. If you have any questions before booking, please don't hesitate to email via hello@mindscaper.com.au. Please be aware that there is not an immediate response to queries.
-
Before your session:
To streamline your first appointment, please complete the online intake form, PHQ-9 and DASS-21 screening tools through Halaxy (our secure practice management system). You'll also upload a copy of your ID and Medicare card. This takes about 15 minutes and means we can use our session time for what matters—getting to know each other and understanding how to work together.
On the day:
Just yourself, as you are right now—maybe a notebook if you like to write things down. I can also email you a summary of the session, if you prefer.
What you don't need:
A diagnosis
A crisis to justify coming
Your story perfectly organised
To know exactly what you want from therapy
Any additional paperwork (we've got what we need, or you can upload to the patient portal anything you think is important Leigh knows before seeing you)
What happens in that first session:
We'll review what you've shared in the intake, explore what brought you here, and understand what matters most to you. The screening tools give me baseline information, so we can track changes over time.
You'll leave with:
A preliminary plan or direction for how we might proceed
A real sense of whether this feels like the right fit

To ensure my practice is sustainable while remaining accessible, I align my sessions with Medicare's 2026 rebate tiers for Nurse Practitioners. A 40-minute session is ideal for focused skill-building or resourcing, while a 60-minute session is for initial assessments or allows for the deep, unhurried exploration required for IFS "parts work." This structure ensures you receive the highest possible rebate for the time we spend together, reducing your out-of-pocket costs.

Yes. Within the scope of Mental Health.
Scripts are sent as e-prescriptions directly to your phone or pharmacy.
An appointment is not a guarantee of a script.

Finding the right practitioner is a bit like finding the right pair of shoes—it has to be a good fit. If you ever feel like we aren't clicking, or if your needs change, I can make suggestions for another provider who might be a better match. Your progress is the priority, even if it’s not with me.
I can provide you a written summary of our work to support you finding someone else, at your request or email directly to your GP with your permission
I can provide recommendations for next steps, but I can't guarantee the availability or acceptance of external services
-
Absolutely. Sometimes you just need a fresh set of eyes on a diagnosis or a specific review of your medication plan. I’m happy to work alongside your current team or provide a one-off consultation to give you more clarity

Mindscaper is not a crisis service. If you’re having thoughts of suicide or are in immediate danger:
Call 000 (emergency services)
Contact Lifeline (131114)
Call MH Triage (SA) 131465
Use BeyondNow - a safety planning tool
There is a further link to available supports under Finding Help in a Crisis.
If you're an existing client experiencing crisis between sessions:
We create a personalised safety plan together—a traffic light system that helps you recognise what stage you're at and what support you actually need. This might be reaching out to a trusted person, using a grounding technique, contacting your GP, or yes, going to ED if you're in immediate danger.
The plan is yours—it's designed so you can make informed decisions about your safety, not default to emergency services for every difficult moment.

Somatic just means "of the body." Often, stress and trauma show up as physical tension, racing hearts, or exhaustion. I use techniques that help you notice these bodily signals and learn how to calm your nervous system, alongside traditional "talk therapy.
Mindscaper will offer EMDR in late June 2026.
Trauma work is layered. I use a staged approach that builds safety, stabilisation and internal resources before moving into intensive reprocessing. This reduces the risk of overwhelm and increases the chance of lasting benefit.
Brainspotting (BSP) is a neuroscience-based, body-focused therapy developed in 2003. It works on the principle that "where we look affects how we feel.".
Brainspotting is particularly suited to neurodivergent individuals because:
Bypasses verbal overload – Reduces reliance on language-based processing, which can be taxing for some neurodivergent people
Honours non-linear processing – Doesn't require sequential, logical narrative
Supports emotional regulation – Helps process sensory and emotional overwhelm in a somatic way
Reduces pressure – No requirement to "perform" or maintain eye contact
Accesses deeper processing – Reaches trauma and dysregulation that traditional talk therapy may not address
Accommodating – Can be tailored to individual sensory and cognitive needs

It’s a collaborative conversation. We look at the patterns in your life, the way you’re feeling, and the goals you want to reach. It’s a space where you can be honest about the messy stuff without being told to "just get over it."
My job isn't to be another critic in your life; you’ve probably got enough of those. I’m here to help you figure out why things feel so heavy right now and find practical ways to lighten the load. We focus on what’s happening in your world without the shame or the lectures. It's not advice-giving or cheerleading.
Integrated therapy:
I draw on multiple evidence-based approaches—IFS, DBT, Brainspotting, —and weave them together based on your needs, not a template. This isn't "a bit of everything." It's strategic integration for complex presentations.
Complex trauma requires complex approaches.
